We at Fish With Gary™ Tackle Co. are excited to convert most of our old fashioned traditional "flat" blade dodgers to the newest technology blade - the Ultralight Offset Recurve Blade. What a pronounced difference in the water. As it is pulled through the water it creates smooth and abundant kokanee attracting vibrations. When we combined it with the Fish With Gary™ colors and upfront beads and willow blade, we created the ultimate in a kokanee dodger. Look at these features:

Shorter but more frequent arcs, which gives greater action to your lure.
Can be trolled without regard to speed - high speed, low speed.
Not subject to the speed limitations of the flat and "skateboard" type dodgers.
More "fishy" looking, i.e. a better, more natural shape.
Will not "rocket" to the surface under the tension of a fighting fish the way some flat blades do, meaning more kokes for you and less for the ospreys. That also means that your kokanee will not be as likely to use the water surface tension to break away from the hook. And that means it will be easier for you to keep your koke from breaking the water surface quite as often. All that adds up to is a higher to the boat rate than with traditional flat blades.

The new era has arrived. Indeed, the kokanee world ain't flat no more !!!

This new blade has been tested for two years in lakes and reservoirs all of the West, Northwest, and British Columbia, and found to be very superior to the traditional flat dodger in most instances. Underwater movie studies have shown that kokanee are attracted to both dodger types. Attraction response is one thing. However, it is the biting response that makes "fish on." For kokanee (as well as trout), a single kokanee is less likely to hit a target lure than if two kokanee see and compete for the same target lure. This is the competition response, and is key to more successful fishing. A little competition among kokanee produces good things for the kokanee fisherman.

Among the features of all Fish With Gary™ Dodgers is the up front leader of lightweight flexible wire and beads, led by a willow spinner. With the smooth, natural action of our new Ultralight Offset Recurve Blade, the overall presentation is similar to a young kokanee traveling through the water chasing some morsel. When a real kokanee is drawn to the setup by the action of the dodger (attraction response), the setup suddenly triggers the competition response in the real kokanee. By using the same color and contrast lure behind the dodger, it makes it appear that whatever the first "kokanee" (our dodger) is chasing is also behind the first "kokanee" (our dodger). This makes it much more likely for the real kokanee to strike the lure. The kokanee biting response ("fish on") is more likely if this competition response is triggered.

No other dodger on the market stimulates this competition response.

This is also why it is so important that the colors and contrast scheme of the dodger be matched with the same color and contrast scheme of the lure. As can be seen in the next photo, the colors and contrasts are perfectly matched.
